Free SO2 determination |
SO2GRAVIMETER is equipped with Bubble. This accessory allows you to extract the free sulfur contained in the wine sample and fix it in the flask below with a NaOH solution. In this way, a colorless solution is obtained, which can be titrated by SO2GRAVIMETER. The preliminary use of the Bubble ensures that all the interferents remain in the wine and not in the solution being titrated. It is also essential to determine the sulfur dioxide of red or very red wines added with ascorbic acid. |
Total SO2 determination |
For total sulfur determination, in addition to the So2Gravimeter, you need the SDEE Distillator + VADE. The wine is placed inside the vial with 2 ml of diluted sulfuric acid. The high temperature hydrolysis allows to split the compounds and the sulfur dioxide is carried away by the steam stream and fixed with NaOH, placed in the collection flask. The acetic acid, which eventually passes into the distillate does not interfere. The distillate can then be titrated with So2Gravimeter. |
With both determinations the interference of ascorbic acid is eliminated.
