Methods for Every Need

Extract analysis, fermentation and sugar content.
Use the instrument on its own — or enhance it with Logger Excel and Logger Pro software via BLE.

Distillation or direct measurement?

With the densimetric method, the ABV measurement on "as-is" beer is influenced by sugars and extracts. The Beer DryExt method involves distillation for maximum accuracy (MEBAK/ASBC reference), while BeerQuick offers a quick estimate without distilling — ideal for process control.

Beer DryExt

Reference Method with Distillation

Reference method for determining the real dry extract in beer. It requires distillation of the sample to separate alcohol and residual sugars, ensuring maximum accuracy.

Single measurement QuickPlato screen on the display

The simplest and fastest method in the entire beer range. A single sample, the result in °Plato on the display — exactly the scale every brewmaster uses daily to assess worts and beers with traditional instruments. No double step, no OG/FG storage: you measure and get the value right away.

Standalone or with software — your choice
The instrument works on its own: touchscreen display, no PC needed. If you have Logger Pro, QuickPlato integrates via BLE for fermentation curves, batch management and advanced reports.

How Beer DryExt Works

The Beer DryExt method follows the standard protocol for determining the real dry extract, requiring two readings: one on the as-is beer and one on the distillate.

1

First Reading (As-Is)

Measure the density of the as-is beer. MicroDens automatically calculates SG@20°C.

2

Distillation

Distil 100 mL of beer and bring the distillate to volume with deionized water.

3

Second Reading (Distillate)

Measure the density of the distillate. MicroDens calculates Real Extract and ABV.

4

Complete Results

View all calculated parameters: OG, FG, RE, ABV, ABW, Attenuation.

How BeerQuick Works

The BeerQuick method lets you monitor fermentation without distillation. Just measure the original wort and then the fermenting beer to obtain reliable estimates.

1

Original Reading (Wort)

Measure the wort density before fermentation. Save it as the reference "Original Gravity".

2

Fermentation

Let the beer ferment. You can monitor progress with intermediate readings.

3

Fermentation Reading

Measure the fermenting or finished beer. Select the reference OG sample.

4

Estimated Results

Get estimated ABV, Attenuation (ADF/RDF), and density difference without distilling.
